Why use a
mortgage broker?
More lender choices, a clearer comparison and individual guidance for your next home.
A mortgage broker helps you compare financing from participating lenders and find options that fit your financial profile. Instead of navigating several lenders on your own, you have a point of contact who can explain the choices and help you weigh the costs.
More options for your situation
Lenders can differ in pricing, loan programs and underwriting requirements. A broker can compare options across participating lenders, whether you are using a VA benefit, buying your next home with a conventional loan, exploring FHA financing, refinancing or considering alternative financing. Sam works through Edge’s network of 170+ lending partners; available lenders and programs depend on the borrower, property and scenario.
Compare the full cost
The interest rate is one part of the decision. Sam can help you compare points, lender and broker charges, lender credits, mortgage insurance, cash to close and the monthly payment. A lower rate with higher upfront costs may be a different fit depending on how long you expect to keep the loan.
Make a fair comparison
Compare offers for the same loan amount, loan type, term, down payment and lock period, with similar quote dates and the same approach to points or credits. Review the Loan Estimate’s origination charges, lender credits and five-year cost comparison. Lower assumed taxes or insurance do not by themselves make a lender’s offer less expensive. A broker compares participating lenders; the network does not include every lender or program in the market.
